Gunter Dufey
Professor Emeritus of Corporate Strategy, International Business and Finance at the University of Michigan, Ross School of Business
Gunter Dufey has consulted with a large number of multinational companies and government agencies, including Dow Chemical, Texas Instruments, and the Pacific Rim Bankers Program. From September 2001 to February 2003, he was employed with McKinsey and Co. in Singapore, supporting the firm's Corp. Governance practice in Asia. Other areas of expertise are Enterprise Risk Management and Intl Expansion Strategies of Business Firms.
"GD," as he is known by friends and colleagues, is Professor Emeritus of Corporate Strategy, International Business and Finance at the University of Michigan, Ross School of Business. He is also a Professor (full time) of Banking and Finance, Nanyang Business School, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. GD is a member of the Singapore Institute of Directors and currently serves on the advisory board of Corporate Governance and Financial Reporting Centre, NUS Business School. He also taught in the Wealth Management Program of SMU.
GD serves on the Boards of Guinness/Atkinson, USA and five subsidiaries of GMAC, Detroit, USA. He participates in managing the portfolios of several foundations.
From 1992 to 1999, he also administered the LRP Chair at WHU Otto-Beisheim-Graduate School of Business near Koblenz, Germany, where he still serves on the Advisory Board to the Finance Center and takes on periodic teaching assignments.

Aneel G. Karnani

Professor Aneel Karnani has over 25 years of experience consulting Fortune 500 companies on strategic planning systems and strategy analysis and formulation. He has served a number of organizations as consultant or management educator, including Singapore Airlines, Singapore Technologies, GE, IBM, Volvo North America, Afrox healthcare (South Africa), Abbott Laboratories, Dow Corning, Dow (Japan), Gencorp, Holnam, NAC Re, Acer, Budd Company, Whirlpool, Masco and Total. He is an Associate Professor of Corporate Strategy and International Business at the University of Michigan, Ross School of Business.
Professor Karnani has held visiting appointments to teach in the executive development and MBA programs of many leading institutions in the U.S., Europe and Asia. In addition, he has lectured in Brazil, Ecuador, Central America, UAE, France, Holland, Hungary, Japan, China, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, India, Taiwan and Hong Kong.
Professor Karnani's teaching and research interests are centered on competitive strategy. More specifically, his interests include ways of gaining and exploiting competitive advantage, global competition and planning process. His publications include articles in the leading professional journals. In addition to these University activities, Professor Karnani is actively involved in executive development programs both in companies and through the University of Michigan.
Prior to joining the University of Michigan's faculty in 1980, Karnani obtained his doctoral degree from the Harvard Business School.
He recently served on the board of directors of A.M. Todd Group for several years.

Mrinal is the W. "H" & Callie Clark Associate Professor of Marketing at the Eller College of Management at the University of Arizona
Mrinal Ghosh is an expert on designing and managing distribution channels, structuring contracts and alliances in industrial, business-to-business, and high technology marketing, and designing sales force compensation. He is the W. "H" & Callie Clark Associate Professor of Marketing at the Eller College of Management at the University of Arizona.
Ghosh's research focuses on value-creating and value-claiming activities and has addressed the following topics:
How much flexibility needs to be incorporated in the pricing and design specification terms of contracts and how should firms customize such contracts to their own requirements?
What is the role of branding, branded component strategies, and reputation in industrial markets?
When should a vendor seek control over the customization decisions?
When does it make sense to procure industrial equipment under operating leases?
When does it make sense for firms to bundle technical consulting services with the sale of their equipment/systems in industrial markets?
While licensing technology, how much restrictions do licensors impose on the scope and use of the technology by the licensee and why?
When is it more profitable for firms to compete in systems versus component markets?
How much coordination and control should firms seek while designing their channels of distribution? What factors impact these decisions?
How does information about customer's impact competition in a channel and the ability of firms to make customized product and service offerings?
When does it make sense to offer pay-for-performance incentives to salespeople? How do pay-for-performance compensation contracts enable a firm to a) incentivize the salespeople and b) select salespeople with appropriate characteristics?

Robert Salomon
Rob is an Associate Professor of Management
Robert Salomon joined the faculty of New York University's Stern School of Business in September 2005. A graduate of NYU Stern's doctoral program, he was on the faculty of the Marshall School of Business, University of Southern California prior to returning to New York University.
Professor Salomon's current research centers on the management and economics of international expansion. He studies how and why firms enter foreign markets, how firms manage the cross-border technology transfer process, and how international expansion impacts firm performance.
Professor Salomon's academic accomplishments include several noteworthy distinctions. His dissertation was awarded both the Newman and Richman dissertation prizes; was runner-up in the 2001 INFORMS dissertation competition; was nominated for the Richard N. Farmer Dissertation Award; and was considered as a finalist for the Gunnar Hedlund Medal. In addition, he was awarded the Haynes Best Paper Prize at the 2003 Academy of International Business Meetings and received three Best Paper nominations at the 2002 and 2003 Academy of Management meetings. Professor Salomon has received commendations for "Excellence in Teaching" at both New York University and the University of Southern California.
Professor Salomon's research papers have been published in the Academy of Management Journal, Organization Science, Management Science, Journal of Economics and Management Strategy, Strategic Management Journal, Journal of International Business Studies, Organization and Environment, Academy of Management Best Paper Proceedings, and in a recent book entitled Cooperative Strategies and Alliances. Robert published his first book, entitled Learning from Exporting: New Insights, New Perspectives, in 2007.
Professor Salomon received a B.B.A. in Finance magna cum laude from the University of Michigan. He earned his Masters and Ph.D. degrees in International Business Strategy from New York University Stern School of Business.
